“Pocket-style” Linking

Neckline finishing.

Around the round neckline edge, two pairs of needles will be used to work “pocket-style” Linking of two layers of neckline stitches.

In this method, two identical layers of neckline stitches will be created (outer and inner layer), which will later be joined using the Linking seam linking method.

The top layer of stitches (main layer) stays on the first needle, the bottom layer (inner part of the “pocket”) on the second needle.

Outer layer of work.
In Round 1 (wrong side of work), knit all stitches. Then, work another 2 rounds in stockinette stitch.

Inner layer of work.
Join new working yarn from a separate ball of yarn to the beginning of the round.
Work Round 1 (right side of work) as follows: Alternate “k1, k1-tbl”. Then, work another 2 rounds in stockinette stitch.

Joining stitches using the linking seam method.
Insert the tip of the right needle into the first stitch on the front needle = needle closer to you (Needle#1) as if to knit.
Then, insert the same right-hand needle into the first stitch on the back needle = needle farther away from you (Needle#2).
Knit bother stitches together using the same piece of working yarn.
Slip the resulting new stitch to the right needle.
Repeat the steps to knit all stitches around the whole neckline together in pairs.
